Abstract	Contemporary dynamics of the economy has changed the business approach to intellectual property protection. Organizations are increasingly turning to co-operators to share knowledge and innovative process solutions to achieve mutual benefits. This trend creates an opportunity for less developed economies, characterized by lower levels of innovation. Present study analyzes the current level of innovation in the economy in Poland and in selected European countries, presents sources of new or improved technology to boost innovation organization, and matched the most favorable variant of development for companies with a low level of innovation.
