| Abstract | This work had the objective of verifying the beneficial use potential for the solid waste generated in an universitary campus, to subside its management planning and actions. The study was carried out at the UFERSA Campus in Mossoró, RN, in four consecutive years, with samplings conducted during regular classes’ seasons. The data was submitted to variance analysis and means tests. After grouping the 18 waste classes in 4 bigger groups (recyclable, food, dangerous and other), it was verified that there was no difference in composition in any group between the days of the week, and that the highest proportions (48.9 and 55.1%) were observed for the great group of recyclables. For the last two years of the study, there was an increase in proportion for the recyclables group, emphasizing the importance of effective joint selective collection in this institution. |
