Abstract	The decision to seek third-party resources or use resources generated by the entity itself requires planning, in order to better leverage the company. Thus, the objective of this study is to analyze the relationship between the retention of profits and investments in fixed assets and profitability indicators in companies in the Financial sector. As for the methodological procedures, this research is classified as quantitative, descriptive and documentary. The research data were collected in two databases: Economática® and the CVM Portal. Thus, it was possible to calculate the dependent variables: ROA, ROE, Degree of Fixed Assets of Equity, Turnover of Assets and Degree of Financial Leverage. The independent variable was the percentage of profit retained for profit reserves. In the statistical analysis of Pearson's Correlation, the most significant relationships were between the independent variable and the turnover of the asset and the degree of immobilization, with Pearson coefficients (ρ) being 0.271 and 0.533, respectively. In the Simple Linear Regression analysis, the most expressive result was confirmed among the same variables highlighted in the Correlation test. However, for most analyzes, the results do not allow inferences about the relationship between the variables used. It is concluded that the percentage retained for the profit reserves does not have a relevant association with the indicators used. In relation to the variation of property, plant and equipment and intangible assets between consecutive years, there was a moderate positive relation, a factor that demonstrates the concern of the companies in the maintenance of these assets guarantors of the operational activity for the future years.
