| Abstract | Introduction: The Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is associated with early development of cardiovascular disease and premature death caused by disorders of lipoprotein metabolism, and other changes that contribute to endothelial dysfunction, consequent development of dyslipidemia and accelerated atherosclerosis frames. Objective: This paper will discuss aspects of lipid metabolism changes secondary to CKD. Methodology: Were used some original and review articles published between 1993 and 2014 in two bibliographic databases – Literature of International Health Sciences (Pubmed) and CAPES Portal Journals. Forty-seven articles were selected to the work writing. Conclusion: Although dyslipidemia is a disturbance observed in CKD condition, still existing several key points of lipid metabolism regulation that need to be clarified. Thus, further studies are needed in order to better understand the development of dyslipidemia in parallel to the progress of chronic kidney disease. |
