| Abstract | Communication and information are considered strategic actions since the drafting of the National Program for Control of cervical cancer in 1997, coordinated by the National Cancer Institute / Ministry of Health. The information is considered as a key element for evaluation and monitoring of actions taken and is based on indicators, fed by information systems. Communication is thought centrally at the federal level, with production of materials and publications that follow a vertical flow distribution for state / municipal centers, with strong influence of advertising campaigns. The research seeks to reflect on communication and information strategies proposed by the program. Issues and contradictions are raised between the proposed objectives and the prevailing hegemonic models with centralized and unidirectional characteristics. Having comprehensiveness in health care as a conceptual reference, as part of the care value, a category that emphasizes dialogue, critical and responsible reflection on disease-health issues and focuses the eye on users in their social networks. Proposes rethinking the evaluation of public policy to include in the action planning multiple voices in the daily routine of health services. |
