| Abstract | The aim of this study was to evaluate the ability of three strains of Pleurotus ostreatus and one of Agrocybe aegerita to colonize the biomass generated by juicers industries (pomace) and to compare the mycelial growth curves. The use of these lignocellulosic waste could provide options for the disposal of this waste biomass. Two types pomace of pear were used as substrates, one subjected to a preliminary enzymatic treatment prior to juice extraction and other without treatment. A. aegerita showed slower growth than P. ostreatus on both substrates, while P. ostreatus showed better development on the pear pomace with enzymatic pretreatment, behavior that could be related with the chemical characteristics of the substrates. |
