| Abstract | The resistence of seven castor bean cultivars (BRS Energia, AL Guarany 2002, Sara, Nordestina, Lyra, CPACT40 e IAC80) to root-knot nematodes species Meloidogyne incognita, M. javanica, M. arenaria, M. ethiopica, M. graminicola and M. enterolobii was evaluated at greenhouse conditions. Seedlings of different genotypes were inoculated with 5000 eggs of each specie of the nematode per plant, using six replications per treatment. Plants of rice ‘BR IRGA 410’ and tomato ‘Rutgers’ were used as a control to M. graminicola and to the others tested species of Meloidogyne, respectively. Three months after the inoculation, the roots of each plant were evaluated by number of galls and by the nematode reproduction factor (RF= final population/initial population). It was verified that all the castor bean cultivars behaved as immune or resistant, depending on the tested Meloidogyne specie. |
