| Abstract | The present thesis work arises as a result of a university practice experience carried out in a public school in the city of Bogota, Colombia, which aimed to answer the following question: Is a cognitive enhancement program, carried out in 5 year old children, and designed to optimize the cognitive processes underlying the reading and writing, starting from the approaches of cognitive neuropsychology, effective?, and in case of proving an effectiveness by the program: How effective is it?. This research implemented a quantitative AB design methodology, as it was an intra-subject study based on a small size sample. Participants were evaluated with 30 sub-tests of the Children's Neuropsychological Evaluation (ENI-2) to obtain pre- and post-intervention measurements. A statistical analysis was carried out in the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) program, within which the nonparametric test of two related samples – Wilcoxon was chosen. It was concluded that none of the subjects presented statistically significant differences between the results obtained in the pre- and post-test. |
