Abstract	espanol?Como debemos interpretar las transiciones y las continuidades de la naturaleza de la crisis economica en America Latina que, a pesar de las diferencias entre los sistemas politicos, e incluso las aspiraciones de los gobiernos “progresistas”, parecen menos significativas que la situacion comun en la que se halla la region? En este trabajo he tratado de objetivar historicamente las perturbaciones de la crisis economica latinoamericana desde el comienzo de la era neoliberal con el fin de derribar los mitos o ambivalencias teoricas que, deliberadamente o no, se adscriben a la corriente principal del pensamiento economico. EnglishHow should we understand the transitions and continuities of the nature of the economic crisis in Latin America that despite the differences between political systems, and even the aspirations of "progressive" governments, seem less significant than the common situation in the region? In this paper I have tried to objectify historically the perturbations of the latinoamerican economic crisis since the beginning of the neoliberal era in order to overthrow the myths or theoretical ambivalences that, deliberately or not, are ascribed to the mainstream of economic thought.
