| Abstract | Mortar is one of the most used materials in civil construction. According to the preparation method, the mortar can be stabilized or prepared directly at the civil works. The objective of the present work was to carry out a comparative theoretical reference study between stabilized mortars and mortars prepared in civil works. The study was elaborated through a qualitative research, of the type "Explanatory research", carried out between the months of August to October of 2017. It was verified that the costs of each type of preparation for the mortar are influenced by several factors, but that in large works the stabilized mortar is more economically viable, and in small works the mortar prepared in the work becomes more viable. The main factor that increases the cost of the mortar prepared in the work is the manpower necessary to carry out the preparation and transportation service of the products that comprise it, and of the mortar itself inside the construction site. The main advantages of stabilized mortar are the final homogeneity of the product, which offers a better quality and in medium and large works the lower cost. On the other hand, the mortar produced in the work has as main advantages a lower initial cost with the products, being more economically feasible for small works. |
