Abstract	This exploratory research has two objectives. First, explore and analyze needs presented by family with one member with intellectual disability when they are faced with an income residential process and secondly, present an intervention project in order to provide them a previous support institutionalization improving in this way their welcome. Therefore, this work aims to deepen the feelings of these families to propose an intervention model that from social work is based on building coping skills and family centered model. For this, we have done an approximation of these families evolution and we have contacted several professionals who work the perspective coping with them. To carry out the research we have used a quantitative and qualitative methodology.
