Abstract	Lamyctes adisi n. sp., a terricolous non-migrant species with a dormant submerged egg stage, is described from a blackwater inundation forest in the valley of Rio Negro, environs of Manaus, Central Amazonia, Brazil. The cosmopolitan Lamyctes Julvicornis MEINERT, 1868, reported from a non-flooded area at Manaus for the first time, is redescribed.
