| Abstract | 1 . INTRODUCTION At this moment the Netherlands are going into a new phase in their Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)-framework. We are waiting for a formai national govemment standpoint to be called 'More effective with ElA' to be presented to parliament. Where this will lead us to is not yet clear. It will be a process that will take the Netherlands into the next century and will involve all users of the new ElA-instruments. The key-word is differentiation of assessment instruments. And new forms of strategie environmental assessment will be in the core of these developments. |
