Abstract	espanolEn este articulo se hace un repaso por los cambios ocurridos en la sociedad espanola desde la perspectiva demografica, los movimientos migratorios, los modelos familiares, la cultura y la educacion, la situacion economica o la tecnologia. Se analizan las caracteristicas de la poblacion activa, desempleada y jubilada. Desde esta perspectiva, se analizan los objetivos de la Medicina del Trabajo y su oportunidad de ofrecer aportaciones imaginativas en la sociedad del futuro, progresivamente mas envejecida. La investigacion, la promocion de la salud y la formacion en habitos saludables desde la edad laboral juvenil, la mejor integracion de la poblacion trabajadora, etc., proporcionara una mejor salud no solo en la epoca laboral, sino mucho mas alla cuando se haya producido la jubilacion. EnglishIn this paper, we review the changes in Spanish society from a demographic perspective: migration, family patterns, culture and education, economic status or technology. We analyze the characteristics of the labor force, unemployed and retired. From this perspective we analyze the aims of Occupational Medicine and its opportunity to offer imaginative contributions to our future society, progressively aging. Research, health promotion and training in healthy habits since early labor age will provide a better health, not only in labor time, but beyond, until retirement.
