| Abstract | This study aimed to analyze the factors that were most associated to the evolution of precursor lesions for the cervical invasive carcinoma in the State of Mato Grosso. The type of study was cross-sectional, developed from a representative sample. The source of data used was the medical records. To assess the risk of invasive carcinoma, the chi-square test and the logistic regression analysis were used. There was a higher prevalence of invasive carcinoma among women in the 35-50 years age group. From the multivariate logistic regression it was observed that the disease in the invasive form depends on age, followed by the municipality of residence, marital status, age of the menarche and occupation. Thus, women at risk for invasive cancer are those aged over 35 years, residing in the interior of the State, the "unmarried", those who had menarche before 12 years of age and the "housewives”. The invasive carcinoma was found to be strongly associated with the unfavorable social conditions and the disease appears early in the state of Mato Grosso. |
