Estudio bibliométrico de los artículos publicados en revistas ecuatorianas indexadas en Latindex sobre Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo

| Abstract | Investigation is an activity that contributes to the knowledge of the science and development of the countries. In the field of safety and health at work, the dissemination of scientific production is transcendental, not only because it allows to disseminate the results of research, It also guides decision-making for the preparation of public policies and research priorities. This study is a bibliographic review whose purpose contribute to the scientific activity in occupational safety and health and knowledge about the evolution and trends, as well as the topics of greatest interest published in Ecuadorian journals. Material and methods were identified and selected those current and online journals in Latindex Catalog, those original articles on occupational safety and health developed in the Ecuadorian context were retrieved. We excluded those theoretical articles, reflection, opinion, debate, editorial and letter to the editor. Results: A total of 41 scientific articles were retrieved (6.8 ± 7.0 articles / year) from 18 Ecuadorian journals indexed in the Latindex Catalog and signed by 93 authors. There is a growing tendency to increase (R² = 0.522), especially in 2017, of which the disciplines of greatest interest are Psychosociology and Safety at work and those of less research interest are Ergonomics and Industrial Hygiene. Conclusions: The scientific production in safety and health at work in Ecuador is scarce. Recommendations: Promote a research culture from the first years of training with solid foundations that allow the production of scientific material relevant to safety and health at work that is published in Ecuadorian journals and thus reliable data that allow us to make public policies. |
