El Valor De La Experiencia En La Formación De Los Futuros Educadores

| Abstract | This paper aims to sum up the research done at CES Don Bosco (Centre for Higher Education in Humanities and Education affiliated to the Complutense University of Madrid) during the last two academic years: 2013/14 and 2014/15. The main objetive was twofolded. On the one hand, to know the reasons of our students for their choice to do the Degree in Education. On the other hand, to analyse and assess their experiences all along their university stay. The qualitative methodology is supported by three different techniques employed to collect data, namely: “Letter to my school”, an autobiographical account, and an individual interview. The research sample is made up by 250 students from the Infant and Primary Education Degrees in their 1st, 3rd and 4th years. The results reveal the relevance of experience in the training process which becomes cross-wise. It is important to point out also the psycho-affective dimension which reinforces the different options and –altogether with experience – directs the students’ professional decisions. As a conclusion we may say that experience is a realm closely linked to both personal and professional choices. |
