| Abstract | The notion of ethos spread by Aristotle distinguishes from that which the discourse analysts attribute to it. The rhetorical ethos of Aristotle gave way in the Discourse Analysis , to a enunciative concept of ethos. Considering this perspective, we aim to analyze how the construction of ethos in the modernist Manifesto Pau-Brasil and the poem Pero Vaz de Caminha contained in the book of the same name, both of Oswald de Andrade is constructed. Besides these texts we also observe the Letter of Pero Vaz de Caminha, examining the relationship between the oswaldiano ethos and what is built by the Portuguese scrivener. For the development of this study, we will use as a theoretical basis Dominique Maingueneau (2008, 2010, 2013 e 2015), Fernanda Mussalim (2003 e 2015) e Nagamine Brandão (2012). |
