| Abstract | Este trabalho visou, em seu objetivo geral, identificar a postura estrategica das industrias de transformacao na regiao de Frederico Westphalen, sua forma competitiva e a sua adequada interacao com o ambiente de negocios. Objetivou, tambem, discutir a pertinencia da postura estrategica encontrada e a forma competitiva empregada. Esta pesquisa justificou-se pela necessidade de uma investigacao com foco na micro e pequena empresa regional, pois trata-se de um universo relativamente desconhecido para o ambiente academico. Desta forma, foi possivel fortalecer o ensino no curso de Administracao com a insercao de professores e pesquisadores no ambiente empresarial. Como base conceitual utilizou-se a classificacao proposta por Miles e Snow (1978) para os quais as empresas frente ao ambiente podem adotar posturas estrategicas defensiva, prospectiva, analitica e reativa. Para investigar a forma de competitividade utilizou-se a metodologia de Porter (1998). Para esse autor uma empresa em relacao ao seu ambiente pode competir em custo, diferenciacao e enfoque. A pesquisa foi constituida de pesquisa bibliografica e estudo de campo onde foram aplicados questionarios a uma amostra de 45 empresas (20% da populacao). Ficou evidenciado, entre as industrias pesquisadas, que a postura estrategica defensiva e a competicao em custos sao modelos adotados. Os dados levantados corroboraram os modelos teoricos, para os quais a postura estrategica prospectiva e competicao em custos sao inadequadas para as pequenas empresas. Constatou-se, ainda, que a maioria das empresas compete em enfoque e estrategicamente tem posturas defensivas e reativas. Com raras excecoes encontrou-se empresas competindo em diferenciacao e com postura prospectiva. As posturas estrategicas defensivas e reativas, sao posturas que tendem ser utilizadas por empresas pouco inovadoras, para se manterem no mercado. Neste caso, essas estrategias nao permitem a competicao em custos. Isto traduziu a pouca competitividade dessas empresas, limitadas em termos de porte, recursos financeiros e tecnologicos, no mercado em que atuam. - This work sought, in your general objective, to identify the strategic posture of the process industries in the area of Frederico Westphalen, your competitive form and appropriate interaction of these to the atmosphere of businesses. It aimed at, also, to discuss the pertinence of the found strategic posture and the form competitive maid. This research was justified for the need of an investigation with focus in the personal computer and small regional company, because it is treated of a relatively unknown universe for the academic atmosphere. This way, it was possible to strengthen the teaching in the course of Administration with the teachers’ insert and researchers in the managerial atmosphere. As conceptual base was used the classification proposed by Miles and Snow (1978) for which the companies front to the atmosphere can adopt postures strategic defensive, prospective, analytic and it reactivates. The research was constituted of bibliographical research and field study where were applied questionnaires to a sample of 45 companies (20% of the population). It was evidenced, among the industries researched that the defensive strategic posture and the competition in costs are adopted models. The lifted up data corroborated the theoretical models, for the ones which, the prospective strategic posture and competition in costs are inadequate for the small companies. It was verified, still, that most of the companies competes in focus and strategically it has defensive postures and you reactivate. With rare exceptions it was companies competing in differentiation and with prospective posture. The defensive strategic postures and you reactivate, they are postures that tend to be used by companies a little innovative, for if they maintain at the market. In this case, these strategies don’t allow the competition in costs. This translated the little competitiveness of these limited companies in load terms, financial and technological resources, in the market in that act. |
