| Abstract | For the last few years, Communication and Information Technologies (ITC) have been playing a very important role in our present society due to all the changes that have taken place. Consequently information digitalization has been evolving more and more. In this context, and on the basis of the Information Society, the school has undergone important changes in order to adjust to the new digital era, introducing the ITC in the classrooms with the objective to help children develop their digital literacy. This way, these children will acquire the skills, knowledge, abilities and attitude required to adjust to the Information Society. In the following, we intend to find out Primary School students’ digital competence level following the guidelines set in the Syllabus, especially on the Basic Competences document in the Digital Area. The research has been carried out in Ripollès Primary School centers, so that the study objects were the children. Besides, we present a small research on the conditions that include teachers in order to make the acquisition of the digital area basic competences possible, following the ITC National Standards (USA) for teachers ISTE premises. Our conclusions, on the whole show that the level of Primary School students on basic competences in the digital area is quite good and positive. Regarding the teachers’ conditions, these should be improved. In this context, therefore, some questions could be put forward: Which activities should be done so that Primary School students acquire an excellent level on the digital area? Which conditions should teachers have to improve the development of this students’ competence? Go in the same direction the conditions of teachers with the level of competition that digital must achieve students? |
