| Abstract | Conservation is an elaborate and multidisciplinary process, involving different operational stages. Criteria for the preliminary evaluation, the intervention planning, execution and control, established both at international and national level, have been followed for the rehabilitation of a timber floor in the Belasi Castle (Trentino, Italy). In particular, the paper stresses the importance of the investigation actions, for the knowledge of the actual state of the structure, as well as for the choice, calibration and control of the repair intervention. A fortiori, comprehensive analyses are required, if new techniques are adopted, as the one described in the paper.
