| Abstract | Introduction: Pain is now considered the fifth vital sign and subjectivity associated with the inability to verbalize the neonate are factors that complicate the interpretation. In this context, the present study aimed to analyze the perception of nurses in relation to pain in newborns identifying the attitudes of these professionals in the newborn with pain in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
