| Abstract | The aim of this study was to conduct a diagnosis of propositional action of Reference Centres for Occupational Health of the Region Midwest of the country about the development of the Surveillance in Occupational Health, with reference to the guidelines of the National Occupational Health and worker. Survey and analysis of the information contained in the inventory of the health workers of the Ministry of Health, the state health plans and management reports of CEREST in recent years was performed. Then we developed qualitative research with teams and technicians CEREST the Region, semi-structured interviews in guiding roadmap consists of several items considered enlightening to identify progress, difficulties and needs for performance of CEREST. For the interpretation of the material from these interviews was adopted thematic analysis. Key issues examined: types of programs developed; integration with other components of the Health Surveillance and Primary Health Care; intersectoral coordination; analyzes of various sources of information; participation of social control in the preparation, monitoring and evaluation of the impacts of surveillance of processes and environments. The situation analysis of these centers in relation to surveillance practices were categorized as: advances achieved, as the in creased number of accidents at work, surveillance activities, difficulties and various types of support needs, such as organizational difficulties and CEREST role of maintaining the network. These results may support the General Coordination of Health Ministry of Health Worker in the exercise of its function to CEREST technical advisory and coordinating the actions of Occupational Health in conjunction with the three tiers of NHS management, federal, state and municipal. |
