| Abstract | Jatropha curcas is a shrub belonging to the family Euphorbiaceae, native to Mexico and Central America, it can grow in infertile soils, high temperatures and drought. It is an important plant for the production of seed from which oil is extracted, which is an essential component for the development of biofuel. Conventional propagation techniques promote production variability, requiring the implementation of more efficient methods such as the establishment in culture medium in vitro. This study aims to evaluate the effect 6-benzylaminopurine and adenine sulphate in callogenic tissue in Jatropha curcas. Inmature leaves were used for the development of calli, they were placed in the basal Murashige and Skoog (MS) modified medium, and after three weeks the calli were removed, then placed in MS medium supplemented with benzyl aminopurine (BAP), BAP 0.5 mg /L; BAP 2.0 y BAP 2.0 + adenine sulphate 10 mg/L, in this last concentration an additional of 20 mg/L adenine sulphate was applied in the fourth week of establishment. A completely randomized design was used, with three treatments and three replicates per treatment with six observational units by repetition. After six weeks, the hormones used in the growth medium only promoted callogenic mass. |
