| Abstract | Objective: To describe epidemiological and clinical cases by dog bite treated at the health center Playa Rimac Callao during the months January 2011 December 2015 Material and Methods: Epidemiological study of quantitative approach, observational, descriptive cross sectional and retrospective. The universe consisted of 134 patients registered in the Book of Complaint animal bite, served in the period January 2011 to December 2015. The technique used was the observation and as an instrument tab Bitten Care Person. Results: During the period 20112015 there was a rate of notification of accidents Increasing 8 % to 22 %. Characteristics Epidemiological: Adolecentes (25 % ) , male ( 60 %) with no history of rabies vaccination ( 80 % ) , without tetanus ( 80 %) vaccine clinical characteristics . bite ( 67 % ) , lower limbs ( 55 % ) , a single lesion ( 76 % ) , surface ( 75 % ) , immediate attention ( 67 % ) , health care service without comorbidity (70 %). Conclusions: The reporting rate of accidents per Bite Dog Show in the course of the years 2011 2015, has been a growing trend. In the epidemiological characteristics they predominated adolescents, male, secondary education , selfemployed , have no history of rabies vaccination , no history of vaccination against tetanus , from Urb . Playa Rimac, more frequent in summer and with respect to animal abuser if they have received rabies vaccination , the bite was on public roads , the animal was apparently healthy . As for the clinical characteristics, it appeared as main characteristic bite injury , highlighting the lesions in the lower extremities , presenting a single lesion , superficial, immediate care in the health service and did not present comorbidity. |
