| Abstract | Cerrado sensu stricto is a savannah phytophysiognomy with great floristic diversity and occupies approximately 70% of the Cerrado biome but undergoes rapid conversion to areas of anthropic use. Therefore, the objective was to analyze the phytosociological structure of a cerrado sensu stricto in Gurupi, Tocantins. In five plots of 20x50m were sampled individuals with circumference at breast height ≥ 10 cm. A total of 906 individuals were found, distributed in 102 species, 42 families and 78 genera. The diversity index (H ') was 3.70 and the equability (J') was 0.80. The family with the highest importance value index (IVI) was Myrtaceae. The species Myrcia fallax obtained the largest number of individuals and IVI (23.1%). In relative dominance, Protium heptaphyllum (12.2%) and Tapirira guianensis (7.1%) stood out. The other species found presented values lower than (5.7%). The indices obtained in this study indicate the existence of a high floristic diversity. |
