| Abstract | As it seems to be well admitted nowadays, Muslim political thought's main tradition, shiite as well as sunnite, separates clearly, for the times following Prophetic time, between religion and politics, in opposition to extremist traditions from the beginnings of Islam onward. Nevertheless the present leading thought in the international Muslim establishment is rather leaning to them. And radical Islamic groups follow the most extreme conceptions on religion’s and political power’s fusion, and also on holy war against renegade present rulers. A huge dangerous task for intellectual resistance and true Islamic renaissance in line with the main tradition is at work, giving hope for a «Post-Islamic Self Assertion ». |
