| Abstract | The research objective is to present analyze how identity is constructed during adolescence from the definition of identity self-concept, the characteristics of the concepts and different stages of adolescence and the latest research in volume to topic. These focus on the evolution takes the individual to go through the different identities that status defined by Marcia (broadcast, mortgage, moratorium and achievement) affecting five areas or dimensions: occupation, religion, social relationships, entertainment and politics. It is different for each person evolution, lasting a variable with ups and downs that make it a complex process over and who have made a number of theories that leave the thinking of Erikson. Then, to test a series hypotheses about the identity development in adolescence taking two variables, gender and age, was conducted an investigation after assessing the identity of a group of 35 students a school aged 11 to 13 years (First year of compulsory education) and 15 to 17 years (Fourth year of compulsory education). |
