Abstract	espanolPara garantizar el principio bioetico de autonomia del paciente es preciso que este tenga acceso a materiales divulgativos adecuados a su situacion, expectativas y necesidades especificas. En este articulo presentamos parte de los resultados de un estudio piloto en el que analizamos las preferencias de una muestra de pacientes oncologicos en relacion con la presentacion y la redaccion de las guias para pacientes. En concreto, estudiamos el uso de ciertas imagenes que ilustran las guias y tratamos de comprobar si las preferencias de los pacientes estan determinadas por su nivel de implicacion en el cuidado de su salud —o nivel de activacion— mediante la combinacion de metodos cuantitativos y cualitativos a traves de la utilizacion de dos cuestionarios. EnglishIn order to guarantee the bioethical principle of patient autonomy, patients must have access to educational materials tailored to their situation, expectations, and specific needs. In this paper we present some of the results of a pilot study in which we analyzed the preferences of a sample of cancer patients regarding the presentation and wording of guides for patients. Specifically, we studied the use of certain images that illustrate these guides, and tried to ascertain whether patients’ preferences are determined by their level of involvement in their own health care (or activation level) by combining quantitative and qualitative methods through the use of two questionnaires.
