| Abstract | Digital PCR is a newly emerging technology, very useful in precise nucleic acid quantification at single molecule level, even in the presence of large concentration of background DNA. However, the current commercially available instruments for digital PCR are limited in application due to a fragmented workflow requiring multiple instruments and low throughput. Here we propose a continuous flow digital loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) technique as an alternative to digital PCR. Successful application of this technique to digital nucleic acid detection demonstrates the potential of this technique to overcome all the issues associated with the digital PCR workflow. |
