Abstract	The objective of this study relates the examination of the potentialities of the use of crushed diss fibres in a cementitious matrix leads to lightweight concrete.. In addition, the lignocellulosic matter addition involves an inhibition of the reaction of hydration of cement, due to the salting out of water-soluble substances contained in the plant. This phenomenon appears an important initial retardation of setting, which affects the hardening of the composite. To improve the fibres contribution in cementitious composite, we have carried out a treatment by boiling the diss fibres to extract sugars and the soluble substances contained in the plant. This phenomenon of incompatibility of the plant was not observed with argillaceous matrix. Comparison tests between the composites containing natural diss and treated diss with cementitious matrix were carried out to determine the mechanical resistances.
