| Abstract | Test techniques are developed for determination of the crack-tip-opening angle (CTOA). This characteristic of a metal controls the fracture energy intensity and the rate of the extended crack propagation according to the ductile mechanism. The first results of determination of the CTOA for a metal in large thickness and at low temperature are presented. These results enable refinement of the testing standards and formulation of the problems for further theoretical and experimental investigations. |
