| Abstract | One purpose of most museums is to serve as an educational tool to its audiences. Museums often work alongside formal educational institutions to introduce material, supplement lessons, or provide information to audiences of all ages. Because schools often use museums as a source for its students to learn in an environment outside of the formal classroom setting, it is important for both school teachers and the museums receiving the students how to best work together for the most beneficial experience to the students' education. Through closely viewing 4th and 6th grade students from the Murphysboro school districts of Murphysboro, Illinois, one is able to study the educational benefit of these students while participating in a study at the General John A. Logan Museum of Murphysboro, Illinois. |
