| Abstract | The author presents a detailed and accurate revision of the regulatory framework on the protection to minors in audiovisual media in the United States, including broadcasting, advertising, movie and video production, videogames, internet and mobile devices. The analysis emphasizes the importance of the protection to minors in each media, as well as the responsibilities held by public, private institutions and civil society. He concludes that an effective control runs through a horizontal paradigm in which public power, the media industry and users work together jointly, interweaving external regulation, self-regulation and common sense. |
