| Abstract | The objective of this study was to quantify the outpouring of diet and check the saturation parameters of peripheral oxygen, heart and respiratory before and after the offer of the diet through the glass to the newborn preterm when offered by caring staff. To this, were observed 20 newborns with preterm corrected gestational age of 33 weeks, weighing more than 1600 grams which were being fed orally for at least two days. It was observed ingestion of diet offered in accordance with the routine of the unit and compared to the proportion of accepted and poured milk, the variation of the peripheral oxygen saturation and heart rate before, during and after the variation of supply and respiratory rate before and after the diet. The results showed that all infants had spill milk, averaging 10%, agreed to on average 48.4% and was 41.6% of waste. Was no difference in oxygen saturation values and heart rate, but without prejudice to the newborn, as remained within normal levels. The respiratory rate had not changed. It follows that according to the methodology employed can be seen that there is 10% of the spill volume offered, as well as there is variation in oxygen saturation and the passage between the supply and the final change in heart rate between the beginning and end of the diet. |
