| Abstract | In conventional models for optical inter-satellite communications, the swaying transmitter was assumed to have identical variances in its azimuth and elevation axes. In the present work, the analysis is extended to the case where the variances are different. We prove that the instantaneous signalto-noise ratio follows the log-square-Hoyt distribution. With this model, we show that the outage probability can be minimized, subject to a specified transmitter power, by appropriately adjusting some system parameters such as the transmitter gain. |
