Abstract	This work aims to provide the basis for considering the seismic input in performing a stability back-analysis at Guimar and La Orotava paleo-landslide sites (Tenerife). First, seismic hazard in terms of peak ground acceleration is calculated for each site, and source contribution is analysed. Secondly, we perform a hazard deagreggation calculation and the different contribution of magnitude-distance pairs is analysed. Based on the results we proposed three different seismic scenarios at each site, each one characterizing the magnitude, distance, and tectonic/volcanic origin of the earthquakes. Our hazard results can be used to perform a simple pseudostatic analysis. To perform a dynamic complex analysis the selection of real accelerograms can be based on the seismic scenarios presented here.
