Abstract	Asthma is a chronic disease that has become a public health priority as a result of its high prevalence and incidence. In this context, the role of the pharmacist is central to the patient s care. Indeed, he is accessible and knows his patients, which allow him to guide them from the diagnostic to the beginning of the treatment and throughout their follow-on care and rehabilitation. First, this work reviews the aetiology, physiopathology and treatments available for asthma. In a second phase, it lists all the therapeutic education tools available to the pharmacist to succeed in guiding the patient suffering from asthma. Therapeutic education is a discipline in its own right that requires additional training. L asthme est une maladie chronique qui est aujourd hui une priorite de sante publique de par sa prevalence et son incidence elevees. Dans ce contexte le pharmacien d officine a un role central dans la prise en charge du patient. En effet, celui-ci est accessible, et connait ses patients, ce qui lui permet de les accompagner de l annonce du diagnostic a l initiation de leur traitement puis tout au long de leur prise en charge. Ce travail rappelle, dans un premier temps, les etiologies, la physiopathologie et les traitements disponibles pour l asthme. Puis, dans un second temps fait l inventaire de l ensemble des outils d education therapeutique qui sont a la disposition du pharmacien d officine pour mener a bien ses nouvelles missions d accompagnement du patient vivant avec une maladie asthmatique notamment en education therapeutique. L education therapeutique est une veritable discipline qui necessite une formation supplementaire.
