Microwave-assisted Synthesis, characterization and antimicrobial evaluation of some new tetrazolo[1,5-a] quinoline based benzimidazoles catalyzed by an organocatalyst p-TsOH

| Abstract | Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Mn(II) complexes synthe sized by reflux of 6bromo-3-(3-(4-chlorophenyl)acryloyl)-2Hchromen-2one, Ciprofloxacin and various transition metal. 1H, 13C, IR and ESI Mass confirm the formation of ligand. The metal complexes were characterized on the basis of various spectroscopic techniques like IR studies and elemental analysis while the ge om try of complexes was octahedral which is confirmed by electronic spectra and thermogravim-etric analysis. The compounds were subjected to antimicrobial, anti oxidant and anti-tubercular activity screening using serial broth dilution meth od and Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) is determined. Mn(II) complex h as shown significant antifungal activity with an MIC of 6.25 μg/ml while Cu(II) complex is noticeable for antibacterial activity at the same concentration. A ti-TB activity of the ligand has enhanced on complexation with Ni(II) and Co(II) ion s. While Ni(II) complex shows superior antioxidant activity than other complexes. The coordination behaviour of the mixed-l igand complexes was characterized on the basis of elemental analyses, I R, and electronic spectra. The magnetic measurements have been obtained by a vibra ting sample magnetometer. It is observed that the mixed-ligand complexes of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) are paramagnetic, while the Zn(II) complexes is diamagn etic. All of these mixed-ligand complexes are coloured crystalline solids. Octahedr al geometries have been assigned to all of the prepared mixed-ligand complexes. Mechanical, thermal and improve fire r etardant properties of composites were evaluated. The results indicate the good therm al stability of all compounds.
