| Abstract | Given the increasing importance of artificial wetlands for their multiple ecosystem services for humans and for being considered as a refuge for coastal birds, this study aimed to evaluate the quality of the water and the trophic state of the "La Mansión" lagoon, body of water located in the Lima region of Peru. Three limnological evaluations were carried out during the month of May 2018, where meteorological variables such as wind direction and intensity were recorded, as well as physical (temperature and conductivity) and chemical (pH and dissolved oxygen concentration) variables of the water. of transparency. The mentioned parameters were sampled in twelve stations selected strategically considering access and relevance. The main results indicate that the electrical conductivity varied from 300 to 410 uS / cm, the pH ranged from 7.70 to 10.8 and the concentration of dissolved oxygen ranged from 7.42 to 11.45 mg / L. The parameters were acceptable considering water quality standards for vegetable irrigation. The average transparency based on the totality of the information was 0.81 m, which according to the OECD, the trophic state of the lagoon is hypertrophic. The results provide valuable reference information for the conservation of this coastal aquatic ecosystem, being necessary the conservation of its quality so that it maintains its balance and continues offering its services to the citizens and to the birds that inhabit its environment. |
