| Abstract | The differential scanning calorimetric and thermogravimetric analyse~ show that hexagonal W03 transforms to monoclinic form in the temperature region 754.2-805.3K, without any compositional change. It is an irreversible exothermic process, which is controlled by nucleation growth mechanism. The analysis of kinetic data suggests that the phenomenon is associated with high energy of activation. The W03 phases have been identified by X-ray diffractometry. Electrical resistivity depicts anomaly at 775K and the energy of activation decreases with transformation to the monoclinic ph.ase. W03 exhibits temperature-independent weak paramagnetism. |
