| Abstract | During the XXI century development, job stress repr esents one of the biggest concerns for our society. In interpretation happens the same. Interpreters are affected during their language exchange work due to stressor s that lead them to practice under pressure. This leads him to seek solutions so that result of his work is excellent and does not cause him a wear on health. Impacto Psicológico. El estrés, causas, consecuenci as y soluciones. Intérprete de Conferencias frente a Intérprete en los Servicios Públicos. 8 The main objective of this research project is to s tudy and analyze the most efficient ways to allow the interpreter to interpre t with less stress. Our second objective is to compare the stress experienced by conference i terpreters and community interpreters and find out if the anxiety that one s uffers is higher or lower, or if it appears for different reasons, and if the consequences are also different. The project is based on the already published by the University of Alcala o n the study on stress and psychological impact. To find an answer to our two hypotheses, we have re li d on a theoretical basis, investigating both what has been written on occupat ion l stress and what researchers have found out about the stress experienced by the in erpreter while interpreting, and on a practical basis, based on interviews and surveys that we have made to professional interpreters who work in the two modalities. Finall y, we tested our hypotheses on real events, specifically in the practice of a fictitiou s situation in which the interpreter must face his work, initially without having carried out any relaxation technique for stress and then having made these techniques themselves. Finally, the results confirm our hypothesis. Confer ence interpreter suffer stress for different reasons than community interpreters. On the other hand, carrying out our relaxation techniques, primarily a good background documentation, promotes the wane of stress for interpreters and the quality of their wo k is better. |
