| Abstract | This paper presents and explores a model of a work control system that has proven useful in making work more productive. It is based in systems theory and in control theory. The model includes a production or work subsystem and a control subsystem. For the sake of brevity, the model will be referred to from this point onward simply as a work system. As its name implies, the focus of this model is work, not the people who do it. Application of the model is amply illustrated with practical examples. Numerous insights gleaned from its application are also presented. |
