Abstract	Aromatic meso-epoxides 3 have been ring-opened with benzophenone imine (2) using catalytic quantities of the chiral scandium bipyridine complex 1a to furnish Boc-protected 1,2-amino alcohols 5 in good yields and enantioselectivities after acidic hydrolysis and Boc-protection.
