| Abstract | The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is a multiple criteria decision-making mathematical method developed by Thomas Saaty in the 1970s. This method assists the decision maker to choose and justify the choice based on subjective preferences and can be applied in a wide range of situations (simple or complex).Based on this assumption, the AHP was adopted to choose the tests supplier to detect the most appropriate HIV virus for a clinical laboratory, for considering, in its application, subjective, qualitative and quantitative aspects. Due to the mentioned facts, through the bibliographic review on the AHP and the method's application divided into four steps (hierarchy representation, pair comparison, eigenvalue method and priorities aggregation), the most appropriate supplier for the clinical analysis laboratory was chosen. |
