| Abstract | Pain is the main reason for 75-80% of the search for primary health care system, and even being so usual, it is estimated that 75% of patients with pain are poorly treated. The purpose was to identify the processes that influence pain management in orthopedic surgery servisse related to nursing care, in a public hospital in Ceilândia-DF. It was performed a descriptive, cross-sectional and exploratory study with qualitative and quantitative approach through the review of electronic health charts of hospitalized patients in the studied unit. The sample was for convenience, with 25 patients. Were in mediate postoperative period 12 patients, preoperative 11 and immediate postoperative period 2. The most common procedure was the Surgical Treatment of Fracture. There was no record about pain in post anesthesia care unit. During hospitalization in Orthopedics Unit, this record was found 8 times: of these, 1 was done by a nurse. In any of health charts was recorded about nursing procedures for pain relief. In total, there were 158 prescriptions of drugs related to pain control. Of these, 62 (39%) had administration record, 54 on time and 8 late. Of 96 (61%) with no record of administration, the majority (91) did not receive justification. Of all prescriptions, 36 were opioid drugs. Of these, 100% were not administered, and none received justification for non administration. The results suggest a possible deficit in care provided to patients. Therefore, it is needed that the nursing team recognize their responsability in the care to the patient with pain, because just this way this team will can intervene positively, respecting the individual and contributing to offer a humanized care. |
