| Abstract | The poles in the determinantal equation of the standard modal field-matching technique (MFMT) are systematically eliminated, which results in well-behaved determinants. The pole-free characteristic matrix is shown to take a simple form. Excellent agreement between results from the present technique and preciously published data is established. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 14: 337–340, 1997. |
