| Abstract | This article intends to show a short genealogy of the first libertarian schools in Argentina and Brazil, specially in Buenos Aires and São Paulo, in the beginning of the Twentieth Century. It focuses the theoretical and programmatic influences brought with Italian and Iberian immigrants anarchists. The article identifies how names as Robin, Guillaume, Reclus and Ferrer gave the theoretical support for the pedagogical practices adopted by the social circles and modern schools inside of libertarian associations and workers'organizations, in both countries. Despite the fact that schools were strongly fought by both national States during the 1920's, the official education would incorporate some of this libertarian methods within the New School movement. |
