| Abstract | The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between academic selfefficacy, social support and the interest in continuing to study in the college on senior high school students. This research isa kind of correlation study using data collection techniques such as scale of interest in continuing studyto the higher education, academic scale of self-efficacy and social support scale. The subjects of this study are 85of 333 students through a quota random sampling technique. Data collected is analyzed by using multiple linear regressions with SPSS 16.0 for Windows. These results indicate that there is no significant correlation between academic self-efficacy with interest for continuing study to higher education on senior high school students, with a significance value 0.457. Then there is a significant correlation between social support and interest for continuing study to higher education on senior high school students, with a significance value 0.000. Then in academic self-efficacy and social support and interest for continuing education to college have a significant correlation with a significance value 0.000. Basically, Interest is the acceptance of a relationship between themself with the thing outside of themselves. The stronger or closer the relationship is, the greater the interest that arises. Interests can be affected by various factors both from within like from out of themselves and how the student effort that includes strategies and methods used to perform the learning activities in an effort to increase interest in continuing study to college. |
