Abstract	In spite of the importance that the recent technological revolution grants to it, image is still perceived in our culture as subsidiary before other discursive declarations, such as those constructed with the text. The status of image has changed throughout the time and at all times it’s been highly influential from a historical perspective. The need to re-write one’s an own discourse is the one that must push the historian to confront the domain and the development of new sources, for the sake of the discipline and of society in general.
